Guidelines for Collegial Circles – Early Start Program 2010-11
Important Information - Read Carefully Before Completing An Application
Observe Dates and Required Information
¨ Collegial circle study groups provide structured time for reflection on classroom practice.
¨ Active participation by all enrollees is expected.
¨ Attendance policies follow those established by the Teacher Center.
¨ Groups size is usually limited to between 4 and 8 participants.
¨ Applications must be submitted using the form on MyLearningPlan no later than 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1, 2010.
¨ The applicant or a designee must attend a meeting of the Professional Growth and Development Committee to held on Wednesday, June 2, at 4 p.m. in room 208 at the Community Center. The applicant will be asked to make an oral summation and respond to questions.

¨ Applicants will be informed of the decision on June 3, and may begin after July 1. ¨ Within a week all approved groups will appear on MLP for registration purposes.

¨ The facilitator maintains focus, keeps attendance records, logs activities and submits a brief written summary of the groups accomplishments. A stipend of $275 is paid to the facilitator.
¨ Participants may opt for one in-service credit, staff development hours or no credit/no hours with a credit of $100
toward unreimbursed expenses for a professional conference or the purchase of classroom materials. This credit must be claimed by the end of the second school year following the completion of the collegial circle.
