Fifth Grade Math Olympiads
Math Olympiads is an internationally known club with a variety of goals. They may include: -
Developing an enthusiasm for problem solving and mathematics -
Contributing to cognitive development -
Enriching experiences in stimulating activities Students are engaged in creative problem activities that help develop a child’s ability to reason, be logical, and to be resourceful. In addition, Math Olympiad students participate in nationally administered monthly contests. We meet once a week, on Wednesday afternoons from 3:15-4:15. Our first meeting date will be determined soon. A notice with a permission slip attached will be sent home with each student. The supplies needed for our club are 2 pencils and a folder to keep our practice contests. Math Olympiads is open to any fifth grade student from Searingtown School who enjoys the fun of mathematics and the challenge of problem solving.
